There are so many things in life that are difficult. As a child, I went through sexual abuse; as a young adult, I went through verbal abuse. And at one stage in your life, you as person believe that is what you deserve.
You are not worthy of real love, real happiness, and respect. And at the end of the day, that is the situation you find yourself in.
Abusive relationships being part of your life. I was there! And the saddest of all, I believe it was ok.
But it is not ok. You deserve better.
The thing is, if you are in that abusive relationship and situation, you do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. And you believe that is the best place for you.
Sometimes we need to get out of the dark tunnel to see the light. And I know that is not easy. If you are broken down, believing you are nothing without that abuser in your life, breaking the bad circle is difficult.
And that is exactly what it is, a bad circle. And you are the only one that can decide to break that circle.
Many times in life, you will hear that people who were abused as children (boys and girls) are also abusers when they are adults. Or find themselves in an abusive relationship.
I believe with God’s help that you can break the bad circle. Because as a child of God, you deserve just the best.
If He as your Maker believes that you are so special that He made you in His image, why do you let people treat you less than that? God is the one giving you your identity and not people.
That was not something I was thinking about until God gave me healing of all my pain and anger.
And yes, I was angry, furious. Did I wonder why me? Yes, I did. And at the end of the day, I did not care to be abused because nothing made sense in life anymore.
I was robbed from my childhood. I was robbed of my identity. I was robbed of my personality. Your abusers put you in a box. They decide who and what you will be.
Please STOP and think about it. Is this your life?
